2007 Jet Community Awards winners

Edcon’s flagship CSI programme, the Jet Community Awards is currently in its 7th year and has been responsible for supporting and raising the profile of hundreds of essential grassroots community projects and non-profit organisations (NGO's) in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho and Swaziland since 2003.

Almost R4 million has been re-invested into these communities over the last seven years, and this year Jet is giving over R1 million in prize money to 2009's community heroes. While the aim of the CSI initiative is to reward the extraordinary efforts of ordinary people in assisting those in crisis, the true legacy of this unique Programme is evidenced in the inspiring stories and the tremendous goodwill that exists at a community level in terms of contributing towards real social transformation in South Africa and the broader southern Africa community.
